About us
Owner - Chloe
‘I grew up with Whippets and Border Collies, and as soon as I could, I had dogs of my own. My first was a Border Collie puppy given to me by a farmer while I was camping in his field at the bottom of Snowdon! Just a few weeks later, I also got a gorgeous liver Flat-Coated Retriever puppy. I love watching puppies play, bond and grow up together. In summer 2026, I got my second pair of puppies, a Labrador and a Golden Retriever this time. I absolutely adore dogs of all breeds, but I definitely have a thing for the high-energy, hard-work ones! Ha.
I started A Good Lead in March 2026 after supporting a friend with walking her two Labradors. She had a life-limiting condition and was bedbound, so she could no longer walk them herself. It was an absolute pleasure to be trusted to care for her most important possessions. She inspired and encouraged me to start my professional dog-walking business, with a special aim: to make sure every dog gets to enjoy their favourite part of the day, walkies! We do this by using part of our profits to subsidise our rates for older and disabled people on low incomes.
Sadly, only 6 weeks after I opened A Good Lead’s doors, she passed away, and her dogs were adopted. She never got to see how successful A Good Lead became, but I will be forever thankful to her for encouraging me to do this. She was right, it’s made me really happy.‘

A Good Lead has a small team of trusted dog walkers and pet sitters to support Chloe to continue to deliver a professional and caring service. By working as a team, we can offer you peace of mind that if ever your usual walker or sitter is ever unavailable due to illness or other commitments, a familiar back up will always be on hand.
Each member of the team has been carefully selected based on their love of animals and has been through a strict interview process to ensure only the best candidates have the responsibility of caring for your pets. All dog walkers and pet sitters have their own insurance, DBS (police) check and canine first aid qualification. For the full details of the standard of care you can expect from our team please read our Dog Welfare Policy.
You'll get to choose your dog walker or pet sitter, subject to availability and they will consistently be your pet's main carer. You and your pet will also get to meet a second member of the team, so if cover is ever needed, you'll have already met them and they'll already know your pet's routine.
That means no last minute introductions or stress for you, no missed walks or sits and a trusted familiar team working together to give you and your pet continuity of care.
